The only reason I even came to the park on this day was because my brother, at the time, was working for a company who was bidding to upgrade Disney's biometric finger scanners. Rather than fly someone down to buy a pass and do some research, my brother suggested I do it for them since I lived in Orlando.

My brother's company reimbursed me for the pass and since it was, of course, in my name, I got to keep it. This was even a year-round, 365-day pass. All the passes I've bought on my own since have been seasonal with block-out days.

What is now called Innoventions at Epcot was known as Communicore back then. In one of the Communicore pavilions, Apple had a section set up. This particular time, they were showing off some concept equipment. This was some sort of CD multimedia device.

What looked like an awesome concept computer kind of looks like a piece of junk compared to today's G5 and 23

WebTV-type service was only about a year old at this time, and it shows. I really don't think my 1997-era web site looked all that bad, but this kiosk made it look like utter crap.

Rondo Veneziano comes up with some fantastic music. Sort of pop meets classical. I was lucky to get to hear a performance by a small troupe of members.

They always perform with these classical period costumes. They're great!
