Washington/British Columbia/Yellowstone, Autumn 1999

Parking lots frequently have planters between the rows of parking, containing trees, bushes, flowers, and/or light posts. If any living material in such lots is dead, it gives a negative impression to the customers who are parking there. Mount St. Helens is the only place where that isn't true. I thought it was a creative touch putting the remains of trees in the planter spaces in the parking lot.
